Firs, appreciate an invitation to again see and talk with the BHS Class of 1958 even though I did not More…graduate but joined the Navy.
I did reture to Borger, went to Frank Phillips, then to North Texas State. Returned to Borger following death of my father. Opened coffee house called Homer. When we it down, moved to Texas City. Married, two chilren - T J and Shannon.
T J - mainland editor of Galveston County Daily News and unmarried. Shannon Aulds Matun with AT&T and she and husband Jay have for 8 years run the Texas Miles. No grandchildren. Maybe I'll get a small car!
After Texas City, went off to UT with family in tow. Wrote columns for Daily Texan. Did not graduate. Went to Quanah TribuneChief as a reporter-editor.
From Quanah got an offer - actulaly 2 offers - from El Camp Leader News and radio station KULP. Accepted the KULP offer (both owned by same company). Served as General Manager since 1976. Oh, I still write a weekly column for the Leader News.
You can refer to the 50th reunion for more details. No longer married to Dayle. Still with KULP and as noted still write on every Saturday column in Leader News.
