Jimmy Ray Castor, 72,  of Haskell, Oklahoma, died in his home on March 21, 2012, surrounded by family and friends.

Jim was born in Coweta, Oklahoma, on May 22, 1939.

Jim was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959, and had a successful career as a mechanic until he retired. He was employed at Phillips Petroleum co. from 1979 to 1995 and Seaboard Farms from 1995-1999, when he relocated from Guymon, Oklahoma, to Haskell.

Jim loved to fish and hunt. He loved black and white war movies and westerns and has probably read every Louis L’Amour book ever written. Jim loved having get-togethers, and having company. His thought was “the more the merrier.” Jim’s true love was his family. He always had a baby in his arms whenever there was
one available. When there wasn’t, he filled his lap with his 4-legged babies.

Jim is survived by his wife of 13 years, Kay, of the home in Haskell; three sons, Russ Castor and wife, Deb, of Guymon; Kirt Castor, and Ken Castor, and wife, Lisa, all of Dallas, TX; a daughter, Kelly Keenan and husband, Larry, of Dumas, TX; 1 step-daughter, Alana Wilson and fiancé, Scott Jones; two step-sons, Craig Wilson and wife, Christy; and “Cotton” Fields and wife, Brenda, all of Haskell; a brother, Ron Castor and wife, Angie of Porter, OK; two sisters, Carol Marlow and husband, Don of Haskell, and Karen Batty and husband, Lloyd of Jay,
OK. He was blessed with an abundance of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren – and everyone of them knew THEY were his favorite…each and every one.

Jim was preceded in death by his baby son, Brian Ray, his wife of 40 years, Shirley; his dad, Harry Castor, stepmother, Louise Castor and his mother, Lilly Hammack.

Graveside services with military rites will be Saturday, March 31, 10:00 AM at the Gruver, Texas Cemetery with Pastor Gary Gumfory officiating.
