Roy Denman

Roy Earl Denman
March 29, 1940 - November 14, 2015

Mr. Denman was born March 29, 1940 in Cardin, Oklahoma. He married Mary Payne on October 9, 1971 in Pampa. Roy has been a resident of Pampa since 1968. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam conflict as an MP. After Roy was discharged from the Army he went to work for the Pampa Police Department, where he was the first and only polygraph examiner in Gray County, and where he was a hypnotist. Roy was instrumental in starting up Gray County Crime Stoppers. He retired from the Pampa Police Department in 1992 after 27 years of service as a Captain. Roy later worked for TDCJ at the Jordan unit for 10 years, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 AF&AM and Kive Shrine.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Goldie Denman.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Denman of the home; four daughters, Majuanta Slater of the home, Rhonda Denman of Pampa, Jodi Weatherly and husband Lex of Granbury and Ginger Hazle and husband John of Boys Ranch; five grandchildren, Michael Munoz of Pampa, Madison Weatherly and Landon Weatherly both of Granbury, Jonathon Hazle and Jadon Hazle both of Boys Ranch.
