Bettie L. Adkins

December 18, 1938 - November 24, 2012

Conroe -- Bettie L. Adkins, devoted wife, mother and nana, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 24, 2012 in Tomball, Texas after a brief illness. Bettie passed peacefully and was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of entry into heaven.


Funeral: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Wiley Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.


Bettie was born Dec. 18, 1938 in Raymondville, Texas. The last six years Bettie lived in Conroe, TX, where she was very active in her community. Anyone who knew her could attest to her giving spirit and willingness to put others before herself. Bettie was lovingly known as “Bingo Bettie” at the Mansions where she had resided, as she called bingo for the residents for the past 5 years.


One of Bettie's greatest joys in life was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by the love of her life James L. Adkins, Parents Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Hardin, and Brother Jimmie I. Hardin.


Survivors: Daughters, Benita Bergman and husband Bruce of Magnolia, Fonda Peterson and husband Mark of Justin grandsons, Jimmie Bergman and wife Shannon of Tyler, Cody Bergman of Houston, Charles Martini and wife Crystal of Granbury, James and Jack Peterson of Justin, great-grandsons, Jordan Martini, Braden, Braxton and Brennan Bergman of Tyler. She also leaves a sister Bobbie Bates and husband Gerald of Weatherford and a brother Jack Hardin and wife Glee of Amarillo, Ray Adkins and wife Carolyn, of Thibodaux, LA., Mr. Dave Mouret, Alpharetta, Ga. as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
