Darlene Dodd (Cecil) VIEW PROFILE

DUMAS - Darlene Cecil, 71, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Morrison Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Sam White, pastor of North Plains Christian Church, officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. in Terrace Cemetery in Post with the Rev. Sam White officiating. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.

Darlene was born Oct. 26, 1939, in Wellington to Ernest Lester Dodd and Jimmie Lee Thomas Dodd. She married Jerry Dale Courson on Nov. 2, 1955, in Borger. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2000.

She was a resident of Post until 2001 when she moved to Dumas. She married Raymond Kelley Cecil on May 25, 2002, in Dumas.

Darlene was a homemaker and she loved taking care of her home and family. She was a beloved and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of North Plains Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her parents; and three brothers, Ernest Duane Dodd, Lester Lee Dodd and Tony Maron Dodd.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond; two sons, Steve Courson and wife Pat of Little River, Ark., and Jason Cecil and wife Lana of Hutto; two daughters, Teresa Pace and husband Dusty of Kemp and Erin Norris and husband Steve of Amarillo; two sisters, Rosie Jeter and husband Luther of Dumas and Mary Trevino of Dalhart; six grandchildren, Sheri Sutton and husband Randy of Princeton, Chad Hollis and wife Ashley of Kemp, Shane Courson and Patrick Courson, both of Howardwick, Allysa Cecil of Hutto and Kelton Norris of Amarillo; four great-grandchildren, Micheal, Cassidy, Katie and Chance Hollis; a special aunt, Tincy Dodd of Dumas; two sisters-in-law, Linda Dodd and Betty Sue Dodd; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
