
Shirley Sue Kersey

Shirley “Sue” Kersey, 85, of Borger, Tx passed away on February 5th 2025.
Sue was born on November 17, 1939 to John “Jack” and Gladys Earnest in Durant Oklahoma.
After Sue graduated from Borger High School in 1958, she enlisted in the United States Army from 1958-1961.
In 1966, she met James Kersey in Bowling Green , Kentucky. Sue and James were married on July 23, 1966 and were blessed with a daughter, Lori Franco, in 1969 and her son, Ray Kersey came shortly thereafter in 1971 .Sue and James were married 40 years until James passed in 2006.
She was not only generous in life but to everyone around her. Sue was a loving mother and grandmother with a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her smile lit up any room she entered. She enjoyed “Days of Our Lives”, watching football, playing card games, drinking morning coffee on her front porch, traveling with her family, helping her neighbors and loving on her cats. Her hobbies were reading romance novels and doing Sudoku puzzles!
Sue lived life one day at a time and handled the ups and downs with grace. You never would see her battles. She lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with her family that she dearly loved. Sue will be missed dearly.
She was predeceased by her parents, John “Jack” and Gladys Earnest, her husband James Kersey, her sister Mary Jo and her husband Stoney Eddins, her brother Johnny “Jr” Earnest, her brother Oliver and his wife Mary Lou Earnest, her sister Bobbie and her husband Bill Jackson, her brother Earl and his wife Barbara Earnest, her brother Ronnie Earnest. She survived by her daughter Lori and her husband Jerry Franco of Borger, Tx, her son Ray Kersey of Borger, Tx, granddaughter Erin and her husband Jordon Robertson of Canyon, Tx, grandson Evan Franco of Borger, Tx, great grandchildren Elijah and Naomi Robertson of Canyon, Tx.
Services will be held graveside at Westlawn Cemetery at 11:00 a.m, Friday, February 7, 2025..
The viewing will be held at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, 206 W. 1st Street, Borger, from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, February 6, 2025.
