Connie Jane Gray (Cook) VIEW PROFILE

Connie J. Cook, Daughter of Archie and Gladys (Bias) Gray, was born in Duncan, Oklahoma August 4, 1939. Passed away on September 29, 2014 at Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother Archie and Gladys Gray; Sisters, Colleen Maddox, Norma Hutchinson, Donna Merkel; Brother Andy Gray; Son, Bart Cook; Grandson Robert B Cook.
She is survived by Sons, Mark Cook and Greg Cook; Daughter, Tallie Cook; Husband, Lloyd Cook; Sister, Susan Robertson; 8 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

Connie grew up all over the US, but was born and lived a great deal in Oklahoma. She considered herself an Okie. She attended 26 different schools and finished high school in Borger, Texas. Although she attended 26 schools she maintained a GPA of 4.0 throughout.

Connie married Lloyd Cook on January 26, 1958 in Skellytown, Texas. They were married for 56 years. They lived in Skellytown, Texas for seven years, then moved to Borger Texas and lived there for eight years, then moved to Houston Missouri. Connie moved to Laquey, MO nine years ago.

Connie was a homemaker while her children were young, then was the Food Service Director for the Houston schools for 10 years, where she was loved by all the children who came through the lunch line. Sewing was her passion. She made most of the clothes her children wore and a lot of the clothes for her grandchildren.
In her later years she loved watching the Gaither’s and Booth Brothers sing. One of Connie's favorite things to do was go on road trips to visit her sisters and being with her Pomeranian dog "Bella". A very passionate reader, she could read a book a day. Connie was an avid football fan her favorite teams were Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma University. When Oklahoma was playing she would call her sister Sue and they would enjoy the game together.

Connie had a generous heart, was quick to forgive and to let life roll off her back
She was loved by all.
