Services for Doyle Griffin, 49, of Lubbock will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Resthaven Chapel with Preston Oden, a retired Church of Christ minister, officiating.

Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.

He died at 10:21 p.m. Saturday in Methodist Hospital after a sudden illness.

He was born in Tokyo, Texas. He married Patricia May on Jan. 14, 1961, in Lubbock. He was employed as a building engineer with the City of Lubbock for 28 years. He was a Navy veteran.

Survivors include his wife; his mother, Mrs. Ennis Griffin of Lubbock; a son, Stanley D. Griffin, Jr., of Germany; a daughter, Cynthia G. Griffin of Lubbock; four brothers, Wayne of Oklahoma City, Alford of Dallas, and Clinton and James, both of Lubbock; eight sisters, Margaret Ward of Iowa Park, Wilma Sharp of Midland, Robbie Lawson of Kentucky, Martha Clements of Arkansas, Audene Clark of Kingfisher, Okla., and Doris King, Lorraine Creed and Brenda Homes, all of Lubbock; and one grandchild.
