Janet C. Anderson

August 22, 1940 - July 29, 2013

Anderson, Janet C., 72, of Tampa, passed away of a dementia related illness on July 29, 2013. She spent over 26 years as an Air Force wife, moving 13 times while living in Germany and numerous United States locations. Her lifetime interests included traveling, gardening and raising three children while her husband was deployed for a total of 9 years. After settling in Tampa in 1981, she loved attending University of Florida football games as a season ticket holder until dementia took its toll. Jan is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John "Andy" R. Anderson; her three children Melody Harp-Townsend of Tampa, John "Rob" Anderson (Michelle) of Clermont and Les Anderson (Angelina) of Clearwater: seven grandchildren, Taylor Townsend-Dabrowski (Danny), Zackery, Ezekiel, Julianna, Elijah, Nathanael and Emma Grace Anderson. A visitation will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 6:00-7:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM at the Blount & Curry Funeral Home Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Avenue Tampa, FL 33618. Interment will take place 11:00 AM Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Tampa.
