Mr. Michael J. "Mickey" Miller, of Bartlesville, Okla., died Tuesday evening at the Jane Phillips Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ in Bartlesville, Okla. with Mr. Art Henley and Mr. David Hammonds officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville, Okla.

An education memorial fund has been established for Mr. Miller's grandson, and contributions may be sent to Arvest Bank, ATTN: Stacey Copeland, P.O. Box 999, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74005.

Mr. Miller was born on Apr. 26, 1940, in Borger to Julian Allen "Pete" and Thelma Cleo (Reno) Miller. He grew in the Sanford and Borger areas, graduated from high school at Borger and attended Frank Phillips Jr. College in Borger. He was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company in the refinery at Borger until coming to Bartlesville in the early 1960s. Mr. Miller was married to Sandra Rhea Downs on Aug. 28, 1964, at Fritch and they made their home in Bartlesville, Okla. Mr. Miller was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company as a plastics technician until his retirement in January of 1999. Since his retirement he had also worked with Alta Photographic in Bartlesville, Okla. As active members of the Adams Blvd Church of Christ, Mr. and Mrs. Miller have also served as the church custodians for many years. Mr. Miller has been active as a Pony League, Colt League, and Little League baseball coach, played in Phillips and church softball leagues, and was also a football referee at the junior high and high school level. Mr. Miller had also served his country in the National Guard. He also enjoyed golfing, woodworking, reading, and working crossword puzzles, but above all his greatest joy was the love of his family.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Miller of Bartlesville, Okla., one son, Mark Miller of Grayson, La.; one daughter, Kristen Garrett and her husband, David of Bartlesville, Okla.; two sisters, Shirley Copeland and Sue Peterson, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and one grandson, Drew Garrett. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his parents.
