David Parks VIEW PROFILE

David Bruce Parks, 72, of Grandview, MO. has changed his address effective February 21, 2013. He has given up his diseased body for one that is whole and pain free, and is now residing with the Lord Jesus, Our Healer.

David was born July 8, 1940, in Elk City, OK. to Claude D. and Texie Blanche Parks, who, along with his brother Claude Estes Parks and sister Corrine Barnes, preceded him in death.

He grew up in Borger, TX. and Manter, KS. Upon graduating in 1957 from Manter, KS. High School, he went to Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX.

He married Ruby Nell Cook on November 18, 1961 in Pampa, TX. She also has resided with the Lord since October 13, 2005.

He eventually returned to Perryton, TX. to help run the family business, Parks' Food Store where together, he and Ruby began their family. In 1968, David and Ruby moved themselves and their children to Liberal, KS. where David worked for Ideal Foods as a butcher, then drove for National Carriers for many years. He was finally able to do what he longed to do, and that was to be an electrical engineer and designer. He started this career with Foster Design and Northern Natural Gas in 1979, and finished his last design job with Pratt and Whitney in 2010.

David was well known as a "Guitar Man". He played many dances in the Perryton, TX. and Liberal, KS. area. After being saved by the Lord, he played for many years at Faith Tabernacle of Liberal, KS. When the family moved in 1983 to Oswego, KS. and lastly to Grandview, MO., he continued playing at home and never stopped until the very end of his earthly life. His family is certain that he is playing for the Lord in Heaven.

Together, David and Ruby loved and raised 5 children.

He is survived by those children: Cindy Gillispie and husband Billy of Stilwell, OK., Kim Wells and husband Rick of Wellington, KS., Shirley Wolford of Liberal, KS., Darryl Parks of Liberty, MO., and Aaron Parks of Grandview, MO.

He had 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grand daughter.

He is also survived by his sister, Cletta Stall, of Amarillo, TX., as well as many nieces and nephews.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we are comforted by the blessed hope of heaven and that we will be together again
