Surrounded by his loving family, George E. Pierce passed away January 4, 2017 at his home in Borger, Texas.

He was born February 25, 1939 in Slaton, Texas to Alford Franklin and Mildred Lavonia (Sullivan) Pierce. George Pierce and Shirley Jean Brown were married August 21, 1956 in Pampa, Texas. He was a long time standing member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Borger, Texas. Also, he was a member of the Elks Lodge. George was owner/operator of Pierce Hot Shot Trucking for many years. He enjoyed meeting with the guys of the "Knights Of The Round Table" for coffee and fellowship and the family has requested that these members be Honorary Pallbearers at his service.

George was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Derrell Gene Pierce and Jackie Franklin Pierce and 2 grandchildren: Kenneth Yarbrough and Derren Pierce.

Survivors include: his wife, Shirley; 2 daughters: Sherry Pierce of Borger, Texas and Sharon and husband Johnny Nowell of Borger, Texas; 1 son: Derrell Pierce of Borger, Texas; 1 sister: Patsy Toomer of Ft. Worth, Texas; 7 grandchilren: Chris and wife Stacie, Gena Castagnetta, Brian Pierce, Karyle and husband Corby Edgar, Katy and husband Brandon Wallace, Rachelle Nowell and Zach Nowell; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Fellowship Baptist Church, Borger, Texas. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Pampa, Texas.

The family will receive friends at Brown's Chapel of the Fountains, Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM.

Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Directors, Borger.

BORGER — George E. Pierce of Borger died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Fellowship Baptist Church of Borger. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger.

Mr. Pierce was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Slaton to Alford Franklin and Mildred Lavonia Sullivan Pierce. George Pierce and Shirley Jean Brown were married Aug. 21, 1956, in Pampa.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Sherry Pierce of Borger and Sharon Nowell of Borger; a son, Derrell Pierce of Borger; a sister, Patsy Toomer of Fort Worth; seven grandchilren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
